Trim Levels (Exterior)
With six distinct trims, the 2025 Toyota Tacoma accommodates a variety of driving needs. The base SR includes 17-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, and front tow hooks, while the SR5 adds alloy wheels and bed rails with adjustable tie-down cleats. The TRD PreRunner displays 17-inch gray wheels, LED fog lights, and a composite front skid plate.
The TRD Sport's design features 18-inch wheels and LED bed lighting, while the capability-focused TRD Off-Road boasts 17-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires and Bilstein remote-reservoir suspension dampers. With 18-inch chrome wheels, power running boards, a power tailgate, and an integrated storage box, the Limited projects a premium image.
Engine (Power)
An iForce 2.4-liter turbocharged engine delivers robust performance with varying output across models. The SR trim produces 228 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque. All the other trims receive an upgraded version of the engine that generates 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque.
An eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard, while select trims offer an available six-speed manual transmission for greater control. The capable Tacoma achieves a maximum towing capacity of 6,500 pounds and can handle payloads up to 1,705 pounds.
Performance
Advanced engineering delivers improved driving dynamics and capabilities. Rear-wheel drive comes standard on most trims, with four-wheel drive available. The TRD Off-Road and Limited trims include standard four-wheel drive for maximum capability. For improved articulation, the TRD Off-Road features upgraded Bilstein shocks with remote reservoirs and an available stabilizer bar disconnect mechanism.
Additional off-road technologies include Multi-Terrain Select and a CRAWL Control system. On higher trims, a new coil spring multi-link rear suspension provides better ride quality and handling characteristics, and the Limited trim adds an adaptive variable suspension system that adjusts damping force based on road conditions.
Interior
Modern technology and practical features provide a comfortable, connected drive. An 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration comes standard across all trims, with an optional 14-inch touch-screen display available on the TRD Sport trim and above. For digital instrumentation, the SR and SR5 models feature a 7-inch display, while higher trims receive a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
A JBL premium audio system with a removable Bluetooth speaker is also available on selected trims. For improved comfort, the Limited trim adds heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats. Additional technology features include wireless charging capability, multiple USB-C ports, and a Smart Key System with Digital Key compatibility.
Safety Features
Toyota's comprehensive system, Safety Sense 3.0, comes standard on all trims, incorporating forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking.
